Hakawati Psychotherapy

Do you ever find yourself struggling against a critical inner voice? Maybe you’ve been dreaming about change, wanting so badly to transform into your most authentic self but there is something holding you back. An underlying sense of shame or a bad habit of beating yourself up when you’re already down. Well, I’ve been there. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I draw on both my lived experiences and compassionate nature to provide warm, non-judgemental support.

Although you may feel pressured to figure things out on your own, it’s important to remember our deepest wounds are often shaped by our earliest relationship experiences. Therapy can provide a calm space where you feel genuinely seen and begin redefining the relationship patterns that may have once helped you cope but no longer serve you.

If any of this resonates with you, please feel free to reach out and book a complimentary 30-minute consultation. I’d love an opportunity to get to know you and answer any questions you may have.

Do you want to feel truly seen, understood, and supported in a space where you can be yourself without judgment? Are you feeling overwhelmed or struggling to make sense of your emotions and unsure where to turn?

I support individuals who feel lost or overwhelmed and are looking to gain clarity, build coping skills, and reconnect with themselves so that they can move forward with greater confidence and purpose. I take a holistic approach that integrates both talk therapy and the body. I view the mind and body as being interconnected and often incorporate somatic-based techniques to support emotional processing and regulation.

As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I offer a culturally sensitive, confidential, and non-judgmental space. I support clients navigating relationship issues, women’s issues, and major life transitions—areas I feel deeply connected to personally and professionally.

My approach is shaped by my professional training and my lived experience. Having been both a client and now a therapist, I understand how vulnerable it can feel to open up—and how powerful it is to feel genuinely heard and supported. You’re welcome to book a free 30-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to connecting with you.

I support clients who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, ADHD, overthinking, or emotions that can be difficult to make sense of. You may feel stuck in your head, frustrated more easily than you would like, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together. My work with youth and adults has taught me that what we see on the surface often does not tell the whole story. Therapy can be a place to slow down and become curious about what is underneath.

Drawing from CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic approaches, I help clients understand patterns beneath their thoughts, emotions, and reactions, while developing new ways of responding. Growing up in Canada with immigrant parents also informs my culturally attuned approach and understanding of how culture, identity, and expectations can shape our experiences.

Together, we will work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I offer a space to speak openly without judgment. If this resonates, please reach out to book a complimentary 30-minute consultation.

As an Iranian-Canadian, I know firsthand what it can feel like to live between cultures, identities, and the different expectations of who we are supposed to be. Growing up in a multicultural family shaped my curiosity about people, belonging, and how our relationships and cultural experiences influence how we understand ourselves. My background in Sociology deepened this curiosity and eventually led me to pursue an MA in Theology, specializing in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy. These experiences continue to shape the kind of therapist I am becoming through training: warm, curious, culturally mindful, and attentive. Life can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about where we belong. Together, we can explore anxiety, grief, identity, and relationship challenges, while respecting your strengths and wisdom. I use psychodynamic, mindfulness, and somatic approaches, customizing our work to your needs and pacing it safely and supportively. I believe therapy is about building a genuine relationship where you feel heard, understood, and safe enough to explore who you are. My goal is to offer a space to understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a more authentic life. If we seem like a good fit, contact me for a free 30-minute consultation.

I’m Ony, and my own journey through change, loss, and transition brought me to this work. I know how grief and shifting roles can leave you questioning who you are and what comes next. In therapy, I offer a space where you can put down what you have been carrying and reconnect with your own voice, without forcing meaning or rushing for quick fixes. Together, we make room for what matters to you now.

I work with adults facing grief, transition, and questions of identity. As a Pre-Licensed Professional and an MA in Counselling Psychology student under clinical supervision, I focus on supporting you in finding your own way through what matters most. You can expect warmth, honesty and genuine curiosity in our work together. I make space for your whole story, including the influences of family, culture, faith and survival. You are carrying a lot, and looking exceptionally capable from the outside. Maybe you are balancing a cultural tightrope, navigating the expectations of the community that raised you while building your own path. Or maybe you are a corporate professional who has mastered the art of looking fine while quietly running on empty. You know what it takes to build a stable life from the ground up, but you are exhausted. I work with corporate professionals facing burnout, first- and second-generation immigrants, and caregivers supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. As a child of immigrants who also spent years in the corporate world, I bring lived understanding to this work. I also know exactly what it feels like to sit in the client’s seat. I made it a priority to experience therapy firsthand because I refused to guide anyone without knowing how vulnerable it feels to ask for help. That grounds how I practice. As an RP (Qualifying) and Master’s student under clinical supervision, my goal is to help you slow down, unpick generational patterns, and finally catch your breath. We will move entirely at your pace in a space completely free of judgment. If this sounds like what you need, reach out for a complimentary consultation to see if we are a good fit.

Have you been feeling like you are navigating a life transition on your own? I work with people who are moving through big and small changes in their lives - be it a divorce, a death, a new career, a new relationship or grieving the loss of one. Many of the people I support find themselves at the precipice of what is no longer and what is not yet so. That place can be scary, vulnerable, exciting, and sometimes lonely. With a background in yoga, theatre, somatic practices, and Expressive Arts Therapy, I create space for my clients to be present with and lean into that place of transformation.

With gentleness and warmth, I foster a space of curiosity and mindfulness to sit with anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and together find ways to move through them without rushing. I include the arts (writing, movement, drawing, etc) in my process whenever words might stifle my clients or aren’t enough to communicate.

As a Pre-Licensed Professional and Expressive Arts Therapy student under clinical supervision I strive to create a space of safety and creative inquiry for a holistic (mind, body, spirit) approach to healing and growth. If you are looking for a therapist who can sit with you at the precipice of the unknown with an open mind and heart, I would be honoured to support you.

Being a multi-lingual immigrant, I hold my sessions in both English and German. I offer therapy to those wanting to be deeply seen, heard and supported, connect with their inner wisdom and build confidence and resilience to create the life they want to live.
